[ Nak Gadoh Lagi! ]

I was super fortunate to be invited to attend Gadoh Launch and Screening last Friday night.
My awesome thanks to the wonderwoman, who received VIP passes dan super baik hati to offer me one :)

Off we went, round and round at first sebab we were unsure of the right route to reach HELP University College in Damansara, where the launch took place.


We reached just in time and need not to wait any longer before we were shown to our seats.
Boy, I was super nervous.
And hungry, hee.

But the nervous feeling was because I didn't actually know what Gadoh is all about except Zahiril Adzim stars in it.
Itu pun after being enlightened by Wani a bit -_-"

Yeah, my bad.
Sangat buta filem/teater/lakon layar.
Kalau AF7 tu lajuuuuuu je (apa kaitan?)

But at least I came with an open mind, an open heart, going a bit gung-ho of supporting the local acts and excited to be part of it.

Okay, bukan excited dah ni.
Ni namanya jakun -_-"

There was an opening speech by the Exec Producer, Mr. Jerald Joseph where he explained briefly on Gadoh.
Gadoh was then officially launched by Dato' Zaid Ibrahim, a senate in our Dewan Negara, sangatlah soft spoken dia neh I forgot to take his picture hihi but you could see his head from behind EH GOOGLE LAH FOR HIS PICTURE if you insist to see his muka depan -_-"

Taken from their website;

"Gadoh tells a story of a group of teenagers who fought each other along racial lines; a cycle of hatred and violence further escalated by their environment and school system. What was to be a quick resolution to improve the school’s bad image, was taken as an opportunity for one teacher who believed that real change was possible. She ropes in the help of an old friend and reluctant maverick theater activist for this arduous task."

Okay, cerita budak sekolah.
Big deal you might say.
That's what I thought in the first place.

The movie started and I almost forgot to breathe.
It was simply portrayed, albeit the main issue was on the race discrimination that actually happens in our society.
There were mix of emotions put into this movie but I recall seeing funny sentiments on us, the Malays.

Ye, saya masih sedar saya ni Melayu.
But takde la terasa sangat when the joke is on us coz there were cold hard facts that you had to cringe but kinda agree to it.
That kind.

When the movie ended, the audience gave a round of applause yang kuat amat and yours truly almost gave a standing ovation tapi masih sedar diri dan tak mahu nampak sangat jakun lagi -_-"

And this is Namron, who does the screenplay and acts as Azman Hashim in the film.

While the media swarmed for the actors and actresses, we made our way to the buffet line, grabbing whatever was served to fulfill our little hunger pangs, eyeing familiar faces, smiling to those smile at us EH VERY BUSY LAH US, hee.

Dah makan makan baru dapat courage to approach the cast of Gadoh ha ha.
Too bad I had plenty of samosa yang penuh bawang as inti,maka tak sesuai nak menegur orang takut takut ada yang pengsan so Wani saja yang approach them.

I was standing next to this guy who acts as an Ah Long in the film.
Ah Long & Along, geddit?
Okeh tak relevan.


Tak dapat amik gambar dengan Zahiril, dengan bunting pun jadilaaaaaa AGAGAGA.
He's in Cannes Film Festival, France btw, ECEH MACAM TAU SANGAT, ni pun Wani bagitau tralala.


And we met Hadi, too!

Hadi who?
Hadi-just-look-at-his-super-awesome-Tangga-shoes!

He also acted a small part in the film tapi sebab pernah jumpa dia kat Capsquare before this, Along jadi super excited bila dapat cam dia dalam movie tuh macam WEH KENAL WEH MAMAT TUH AKU KENAL, that kind -_-"

Tapi tapi paling best was the part where we received freebies that night!

Dapat DVD tuhhhh *juih bibir*

Oke oke, that was not the best part actually.

I went home with a new perception towards what's happening in this society and realised racism exists in all of us no matter how you declare you are not a racist.

We can't erase racism in our blood, no matter how hard we tried.
Tapi sebaiknya kita sedar perbezaan kita tiap bangsa mampu disatukan jika kita mengakui yang kita ini takut bila sendirian dan saling memerlukan untuk bangun kuat.



Serious semangat sungguh.
I can't believe I just typed out that but I'm really glad to watch this film.
And I'm suggesting that you peeps do too :)
